A hallmark of Duret Paris, a patinated royal blue can also be achieved through the application of beeswax. Ostrich skin is distinguished by its quill bumps – the small, raised points on the skin where the follicles are and that feathers used to grow out of. This bumpy texture is the unique hallmark of ostrich, one of the most beautiful and resistant leathers in the world. Very pliable and easy to handle, ostrich skin is an absolute pleasure to work with. Our artisans will sew your ostrich skin wallet entirely by hand, using age-old traditional leathercrafting techniques. The ostrich leather is dyed using natural pigments. We use linen thread, which we coat with beeswax to ensure that the seams are watertight.
