Washed black

Calf

Grained

There are three main families of leather: smooth, nubuck and grained. Grained leather is not naturally grained; it is the tanner who gives the desired appearance to the grain on the leather. All types of leather can be grained and the process can be done by pressure embossing, dry drumming or boarding. The grained leather of high quality Duret Paris belts and accessories is traditionally darker on the top surface than in the creases of the grain. Maintenance is exactly the same as for any other leather, except it must also be well brushed with a polishing brush to make sure that no traces of leather cream remain in the creases.

Nubuck

Leather accessories with a nubuck finish are always very popular. This type of leather is refined in the tannery by finely sanding the grain. This gives the hide the velvety, napped look that nubuck is known for – not to be confused with suede, though. Your deluxe Duret Paris nubuck leather wallet is entirely handmade and each is unique.
