Your wallet in medium brown grained box calf was crafted with the traditional saddlery and leathercrafting know-how of Duret Paris. We have been bringing our exacting quality, subtle style, and eye for perfection to our unique and authentic leather goods for over 25 years. The quality of our leathers and skins is paramount to us, since they will be the cornerstone of the wallet or accessory you select. The leather of your wallet or accessory is then dyed the desired color, medium brown, using natural pigments. A hallmark of Duret Paris, a patinated medium brown can also be achieved through the application of beeswax. You can pick the type of buckle that best matches your medium brown wallet from our choice of gold, palladium or ruthenium finishes. Your medium brown leather wallet is equally suited to daily wear or special occasions like a wedding or award ceremony. Whether you choose it from our Classic, Bold, Timeless or Top Notch collections, your medium brown leather wallet can be monogrammed with your initials – or someone else’s, if it is to be a gift.
Smooth calfskin is one of the finest qualities of calfskin, a full-grain leather with a smooth and firm appearance. Your Duret Paris wallet in smooth calfskin is tanned with chrome, rather than vegetable-tanned tanned – this is what gives it its bluish-gray color along the edge. We apply a wide range of natural pigments to our smooth calfskin leathers after tanning. The fineness, suppleness and resistance of this material make it a top choice for use in the finest quality footwear, accessories and wallets.
There are three main families of leather: smooth, nubuck and grained. Grained leather is not naturally grained; it is the tanner who gives the desired appearance to the grain on the leather. All types of leather can be grained and the process can be done by pressure embossing, dry drumming or boarding. The grained leather of your high quality Duret Paris belts is traditionally darker on the top surface than in the creases of the grain. Maintenance is exactly the same as for any other leather, except it must also be well brushed with a polishing brush to make sure that no traces of leather cream remain in the creases.
